Expectations is a mixed media collage of a watercolor portrait of a dog I painted for a client combined with the famous “Potato Jesus” in order to create my own meme. “Potato Jesus” was the result of a restoration-gone-wrong and I felt like it accurately represented how I felt when painting my clients pet. I had created a good base for the portrait but as I kept painting I was slowly but surely turning the dog into a potato. It just goes to show that sometimes as an artist you don’t always get the result you want the first time.
